How I Spent My Summer Vacation (A Retrospective)

It remains to be seen whether or not a retrospective is viable a mere three months later.  Nevertheless, this gives your reporter, the protagonist, the opportunity to be on the other side of the camera – for these are all through the eyes and camera of our son-in-law, Danny Gaither.  Obviously, this will be a bit much for other than family and fellow campers.  But it is my site, and this seems to be the best way to disseminate the information.  Therefore, without further adieu, we once again bring you Indiana University’s Camp Brosius, on the shores of Elkhart Lake in Wisconsin, during the first week of August 2011.

[Daughter Jami, crafting.]

[Appears to be Jami, sailing with a Normile.]

[The Normile.]

[The Crafting Biddies.]

[Honorary Biddy Cindy, grandmother to the Normile brothers.]

[Carrie, mother of the Normile brothers.]

[From Karina, grandson Tom’s camp friend.]

[The Biddies euchre defeat was ignominiously posted!]

[“A Star is Born”]

[Danny, the photographer shot by his own camera.]

[The Biddies]

[Tom and Karina]

[Karina]

[The Emperor of Brosius]

[I’ve never been a fan of horses – or their foot attire.]

[The supervisor shoots . . .]

[A ringer?  (For George Clooney?)]

[The supervisor – “nothing but net!”]

[The Empress of Brosius]

[I do not believe Tom and Karina were successful against the home court advantage of the Empress and Emperor.]

[Tom solos.]

[Euchre, a bloodlust sport!]

[Kids in the Roundhouse.]

[Rita on porch with late arrivals – daughter Beth and son-in-law Chris.]

[A contemplative Normile.]

[A contemplative Cub Reporter.]

[Caitlin is a long-time camper, a proud IU alum, and now has the good sense to live in Minneapolis.  😉  ]

[Tom and Karina race doubles.]

[“I am the champion!”]

[Cousins]

[Archery champs.]

[Johnny Depp only wishes he had blue Crocs.]

[I believe Brosius robes are available for a small stipend.]

Until next year!
